MEET THE TEAM
Phillip Cooper has over 27 years of work experience in diverse roles encompassing commercial and investment banking, M&A activity and as a founder of a few start-up companies. Previously, Mr. Cooper was a Senior Vice President at Jefferies & Company, Inc., an investment bank, where he completed a number of transactions, primarily focused on debt financings, restructurings and acquisition-related activities in a number of industries, including oil and gas, restaurant, aerospace and defense, industrial and business services, transportation, communications and consumer goods.
Mr. Cooper started his career as a national bank examiner with the Comptroller of the Currency, an agency of the U.S. Treasury Department, performing safety and soundness and consumer compliance examinations of nationally-chartered commercial banks. Later, Mr. Cooper was head of M&A activity for a telecommunications company specializing in wholesale carrier operations and which was taken public in 2004. Mr. Cooper then founded Certain Communications Corporation, a start-up company in the telecommunications industry for which he served as President for seven years and successfully sold to a strategic acquirer in 2015.
Mr. Cooper holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Colorado at Boulder
